"The entire concept of this small, but powerful story is absolutely haunting. Imagine your very own parents being so unhappy with your choices as a living, changing, human being that they decided to buy a whole $30,000+ robot that looks and acts exactly the way you did before you changed in the way that made them unhappy in the first place- and they expect you to live with the robot clone of you like it's family. The descriptor of "uncanny valley" doesn't even cover the half horror of the situation, especially when you can so very clearly see that the main character feels like they're looking in a mirror and seeing everything they hated about who they used to be. It's horrible to imagine, but, in the main character of this short story's situation, something not imagined, but real."
